Clients should upload identification through the MyCase client portal when instructed. Please do not send government identification through ordinary email unless we specifically direct you to do so.

When you order document-preparation services, you may provide information such as:

  • Names of spouses, children, beneficiaries, trustees, successor trustees, agents, guardians, witnesses, or other designated persons

We do not use information about third parties for unrelated marketing purposes.

LDA Document Services does not currently use a third-party online payment-processing company through this website.

LDA Document Services prepares documents only at the client’s direction. We do not use client information to independently select legal strategies, determine legal rights, or provide legal advice.

Notify us promptly if you believe your account, communications, or documents have been accessed without authorization.

 

13. Email and Text Communications

Ordinary email and text messaging may not be fully secure.

Please do not transmit government identification, Social Security numbers, complete financial account numbers, passwords, medical records, or other highly sensitive information by ordinary email or text unless we specifically instruct you to do so.

By providing an email address or telephone number, you authorize us to communicate with you regarding:

  • Your inquiry

  • Your appointment

  • Your order

  • Your documents

  • Payment or invoice information

  • Service-related matters

Marketing communications will be sent only as permitted by law.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not prevent service-related, transactional, or legally required communications.

An adult client may provide information about a minor child when reasonably necessary to prepare requested documents, such as:

Information concerning a minor is used only for the requested service and other lawful business purposes.

 

16. California Privacy Rights

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, applies to qualifying for-profit businesses that meet specified statutory criteria.

Those criteria currently include a business that:

  • Had annual gross revenue exceeding $25 million in the preceding calendar year, subject to statutory adjustment;

  • Annually buys, sells, or shares the personal information of 100,000 or more consumers or households; or

  • Derives 50 percent or more of annual revenue from selling or sharing consumers’ personal information.

LDA Document Services has not determined that it meets a statutory threshold requiring application of the CCPA.

Nevertheless, we voluntarily provide reasonable privacy choices and will comply with applicable California privacy requirements to the extent they apply to our business and the information involved.

Identity Verification

Because we maintain sensitive client and document information, we may need to verify the identity of a person submitting a request to access, correct, or delete information.

Verification may involve comparing information provided with information already maintained in our records.

We may request government-issued identification when reasonably necessary to prevent unauthorized access to client records. We will use information provided for request verification only for verification, security, and legally permitted purposes.

Opt-out requests generally do not require full identity verification, although limited information may be needed to identify the browser, device, or information associated with the request. Covered businesses generally must respond to opt-out requests as soon as feasibly possible and within 15 business days.

 

Response Time

When the CCPA applies, we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
